Fitness Test: Plank Hold Time
Core strength is an important component of overall fitness. and we use the plank hold time test as a leading indicator. As in all realFIT tests, proper form is essential, so please watch the video below. This test is one of those exercises that starts out easy and becomes very difficult before you know it. We have not been able to find an "official" world record in this, so we have based our max target on what various Olympians have mentioned in public. Our scale max is at 4:00 minutes. Let us know if you find a better target. We are sure there is a gymnast or martial artist that can do much longer.
